Popolini - cloth diaper and clothing manufacturer from Austria

In 1988, Gerhard Feyferlik was traveling to Canada with his wife and two small children on business. There they came into contact with a modern cloth diaper for the first time.

Absolutely enthusiastic about this environmentally friendly and skin-friendly option, they wanted to bring such a product to Austria . The search for a suitable supplier began and the couple soon found what they were looking for in Japan, Canada and the USA. In 1991 the first two “popolini diaper houses” were opened in Vienna and Graz.

Parents were thrilled and the first supply was immediately sold out . All newspapers reported on the new “eco diaper”. Due to the high transport and customs costs, cloth diapers were soon produced in a small sewing company in Melk (Lower Austria) . People increasingly switched to controlled organic raw materials .

Due to the sharp increase in demand, additional production was carried out in a Hungarian family business . The company was bought because it wanted to outsource its production to China. The employees were familiar with the topic of baby clothing and so large production could be started immediately with skilled workers.

Popolini not only produces cloth diapers and the matching accessories - its own clothing brand "iobio" is also part of the range.

The Popolini family business has been run by the 2nd generation since 2020 . The new owners Viktoria and Carina want to combine the tried and tested with the new. All products come from sustainable, ecological and fair production .
